Let God rise up, let his enemies be scattered;
let those who hate him flee before him.
As smoke is driven away, so drive them away;
as wax melts before the fire,
let the wicked perish before God.
But let the righteous be joyful;
let them exult before God;
let them be jubilant with joy.
Who are God's enemies?
According to one source the Hebrew translated above as enemies is נָצַח or natsach.
Another source disagrees. The second source insists the original Hebrew is אוֹיְבָיו for which I cannot find a pronunciation.
The second is almost certainly correct.
Natsach means eternity, perpetual, supervision, or excellence. But I am sure there are times when these can be enemies of God.
