Psalm 96

Ascribe to the Lord, O families of the peoples,
ascribe to the Lord glory and strength.
Ascribe to the Lord the glory due his name;
bring an offering, and come into his courts.
Worship the Lord in holy splendour;
tremble before him, all the earth.

Have I ever used "ascribe" in either writing or speech?

Other than a scripture reading, I doubt it.

The original Hebrew means to give, choose, provide.

Recognize would also work: Recognize God O tribes, nations, and peoples.

Recognize the glory and strength of God.

Recognize the honor due God's identity.

Recognize That Which Exists.
