Psalm 13

But I trusted in your steadfast love;
my heart shall rejoice in your salvation.
I will sing to the Lord,
because he has dealt bountifully with me.

The psalmist is a bit schizoid.

He begins complaining of pain, sorrow, enemies, and being forsaken.

But he concludes speaking of love, joy, singing, and abundance.

The Hebrew translated as "bountifully" is more literally to ripen.

Our figs have ripened. From hard green nubs they have become soft, purple, and luscious. Dear God, help me this day to ripen a bit more into your luscious love, profound joy, and glorious singing.
