Which of you desires life,
and covets many days to enjoy good?
Keep your tongue from evil,
and your lips from speaking deceit.
Depart from evil, and do good;
seek peace, and pursue it.
What we say and do is the source of evil.
What we say and do is the cause of good.
What we say and do creates peace or war.
Rather than mislead, deceive, and beguile,
Speak truthfully, behave honestly, and lead boldly.
