Psalm 103

Praise the LORD, my soul;
all my inmost being, praise his holy name.

The Hebrew בָּרַך or barak means to bless, translated above as praise.

Praise is part of it. But it also means a range of acts that serves another.

Barak also means to kneel. Specifically it is the kneeling of camels to drink water.

Blessing is action on behalf of another that allows the actor to receive what is essential.

I praise, I give thanks, I care for another and through these blessings my best self unfolds.
