Psalm 30

You have turned my mourning into dancing;
you have taken off my sackcloth
and clothed me with joy,
so that my soul may praise you and not be silent.
O Lord my God, I will give thanks to you for ever.

We need to give thanks.

We do not need to win the lottery.

We do not need to pass the test.

We do not even need for our disease to be healed.

But we desperately need to give thanks.

Only in thankfulness can we enjoy the abundance already received.

Only in thankfulness can we apply whatever knowledge we have.

Only in thankfulness can we live fully and creatively whatever our condition.
